The White Ribbon Lapel Pin has been used to promote public awareness for Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) which is also called Alzheimers Disease or Alzheimer’s this is the most common form of Dementia, at present Alzheimer’s is an incurable degenerative and terminal disease that affects 26.6 million people worldwide every year. Alzheimer’s is generally diagnosed in people 65 and over but early onset Alzheimer’s can occur much earlier, sufferers experience Alzheimer’s in different ways and each is unique to the sufferer in most cases, but some of the symptoms can appear to be common and are often mistaken for age related concerns or stress related. More research is needed in to the treatment and reason for Alzheimer’s as it is not well understood and the treatments that are available offer only symptomatic benefits and no delay or halt to the progression of Alzheimer’s. Wear this pin at events, or wear it all the times as an expression of on-going support for the community and its issues
